Police destroyed emergency exercise Camp Zeist - video+raport

Thursday night April 15th: a big emergency exercise in detention centre Camp Zeist. Police, fire brigade, ambulances, fake activists, etc. Because the real disaster is people are kept there only because they don't have papers the emergency exercise clearly needed some extra help: officials from the Anarchistic Anti-deportation Group Utrecht and Piggy Security from Rebelact. The emergency exercise already started around 18.00 An hour later a first extra group of officials tried to enter the detention centre at the main entrance. Later followed by the Piggy Security near the area of the barracks. By megaphone just one thing should be loud and clear - the emergency exercise should have just one order: free all people who are locked up immediately!  However with all these good intentions the police was the participating organisation who destroyed the helping hands of the officials from AAGU and the Piggy Security from Rebelact. They came with several police cars and vans, even one with nice doggies - to interrupt the useful work done by the extra groups who tried to participate in the exercises. They checked the Piggy Security about their ID's and had long tel. calls to hear if the Piggy Security should be part of the emergency exercise. Somewhere a misunderstanding arrised: the cops thought the Piggy Security weren't part of the exercise... How wrong can you be! They checked and double checked, but finally the commander in chief said the Piggy Security should leave the area near the barracks. After also photographers and the filmer were ID-checked and a few speeches and some heavy noise the Piggy Security left and walked in the direction of the main entrance. Of course followed by a police car. Again ID-checks and a conversation about the detention centre with the people in uniforms. The Piggy Security made clear what the intention should be of the emergency exercises: free all people without papers now!  It's a pitty the exercises didn't develop that way - because police clearly didn't understand the work of these extra participating groups. But a few cops were in doubt. Somewhere in their faces you could see: "These groups are right with their view about the crazyness of being detained simply because you don't have the right papers". So maybe we've to exercise again to open the minds of the police and more important: to open the gates!!!
